Brothers Garrett and C.J. Stubbs are professional baseball players and Torrey Pines High School alumni from Del Mar, California. Both went on to catch for the USC Trojans and reached the Major Leagues, even teaming up as catchers for Team Israel in the 2026 World Baseball Classic. Historic Matchup: In March 2024, the two brothers shared the field for the first time in their baseball lives (excluding backyard Wiffle ball) when Garrett's Phillies and C.J.'s Astros faced off during a Spring Training game. Garrett Stubbs (Class of 2011): Played college ball at USC, where he won the 2015 Johnny Bench Award. He reached the Majors with the Houston Astros in 2019 and later became a fan-favorite backup catcher and "Chief Vibes Officer" for the Philadelphia Phillies. C.J. Stubbs (Class of 2015): Originally drafted as a pitcher before transitioning to catcher, C.J. made his MLB debut with the Washington Nationals. |
