Matt Livingston - JV Head Coach
Matt has been employed full time as a science teacher in the SDUHSD district since 1996 and at Torrey Pines since 2002. He grew up in San Diego and was a significant contributor to the Falcons athletic program as a multiple sport athlete during his 4 years. In his senior year (1988) he was recognized as an All-Palomar League honoree in baseball.
He graduated with a BS in Zoology from BYU, and a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of San Diego.
He has coached at TPHS for 25 years in various roles and multiple sports. He has been the baseball Varsity Coach and JV/Frosh Coach and an assistant coach at all three levels, and has also coached football at multiple levels, and girls basketball.
He served as Boys Athletic Director from 2014-2016, helping the school achieve the California State Athletic School of the Year award.
Matt was the ASB Activities Director at TPHS from 2016-2020 . Matt was named "Teacher of the Year" in 2010.
Matt lives in Oceanside with his wife and 5 children.
Jacob Carson - Assistant Coach
Coach Carson is in his third year as a coach at Torrey Pines. He attended Mission Hills High School in San Marcos where he played football, baseball, and basketball before graduating in 2013. He attended California State University San Marcos where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in history, a teaching credential, and a masters degree in education. Alongside coaching baseball, he has coached football for the Falcons for two years. Coach Carson works as a history teacher at Torrey Pines, and enjoys spending time with his wife Stephanie and son Ozzie.

Roger Packard - Assistant Coach
Coach Roger Packard Jr is entering his 6th year of coaching at Torrey Pines. Coach Pack grew up in the Los Angeles area in a very competitive baseball environment, with the following accolades: 1989/1990 Ocean League Champions at Culver City High School, 1st team All Ocean League selection as a First Baseman, 1990 Varsity Team Home Run Award, and 1990 C.I.F. vs CITY All Star game selection at First Base.
In 1991/1992 he attempted to play college baseball at El Camino College and Grossmont College, but a recurring arm injury ended those dreams.
At the age of 53 Coach Pack still actively plays in men's leagues and tournaments. His teams have garnered many N.A.B.A. / M.S.B.L. trophies, rings and titles.
