Chris Possemato - Head Varsity Coach
“Coach Poss” played baseball at Arcadia High School, pitched at Glendale Community College, and Loyola Marymount University (LMU). He has a Bachelor’s degree in history from LMU (1991), and a Master’s degree in Education from LMU (2002).
He is entering his 28th season as a high school baseball coach. He coached 10 of those years at Loyola High School in Los Angeles, with 3 of those years as head coach for the program. Coach Poss had been the assistant varsity coach and head pitching coach at Santa Fe Christian High School for 8 years (2007-2014), where he had the good fortune of being part of two CIF Championships in 2011 and 2012. From 2015 to 2019 he was the pitching coach at Torrey Pines High School while guiding the staff to the 2018 CIF Open Division Championship. 2021-2023 saw Coach Poss as the pitching coach for San Marcos High School.
He has been married to his beautiful wife Karen for nearly 26 years and they live in Carlsbad. They have also raised their two now grown sons, Daniel (UCLA) and Justin (University of Tennessee).

Rick Ray - Hitting Coach
Coach Ray Played 3 years Varsity Baseball at Bonita Vista H.S. (77-79) and two years at Southwestern College (80-81). He is entering his 21st year coaching High School Baseball. His first coaching job at the High School level was 2004 at Rancho Bernardo as the Freshman Head coach where he finished with a 23-2 record. He was promoted to the Varsity coaching staff the following year to be the Hitting/infield coach for Head Coach Sam Blalock where they won the first of his 5 CIF titles at Rancho Bernardo. Coach Ray spent 13 seasons at Rancho Bernardo then left after the 2016 season to join Head Coach Kirk McCaskill at Torrey Pines where he took on the role of Hitting/Infield coach.
In 2018 he was part of another C.I.F. Open Division Championship with the Falcons. After spending four seasons with the Falcons he was hired to be the Hitting/Infield coach at San Marcos H.S. where he spent 3 seasons. Wanting to be closer to home, coach Ray returned back to Torrey Pines in 2024 where they won another C.I.F. Open Division Championship.
Coach Ray has 3 adult children, Charlotte, Stephanie and Cody. His son Cody has been with him on the coaching staff for 4 of his 7 Titles. His 3 kids have made him a proud Papa of 7 wonderful grandkids.

David Fantin - Outfield Coach
David Fantin has more than 50 years combined experience as a player, coach and league commissioner. He enters his sixth year with TP Baseball. Coach Fantin traveled to Ireland for a third summer to coach the 18U Junior and Senior Irish National Teams. He also runs coach and youth clinics while in Ireland.
Coach Fantin has coached all three levels of H.S. Baseball, travel baseball, little league baseball and men’s league teams comprised of former college and pro players. David played semi-pro ball in Ukraine, games and tournaments on five of seven continents and a dozen countries (notably Cuba on five trips) and continues to play in a local men’s league. He has also umpired the Youth National Playoff Games of Ukraine.
Coach Fantin feels that winning is the result, not the focus, and is the outcome of hard work, teamwork, grit and passion. He is retired from a 38 year career in commercial real estate.
He has been married 25 years to his amazing wife Robin; they have two children, both graduates of Torrey Pines. Garrett is a graduate of USC and Ariana, a former 4 year member of the TP varsity hip-hop team, is a Sophomore at the University of Washington.

A 3 time All Star pitcher for the Cleveland Indians, Charles won 129 games in his career while throwing 1,953 innings and striking out 1,242 batters. After his playing career Charlie remained in baseball and eventually became pitching coach for the Arizona Diamondbacks (2010 - 2013) and the Los Angeles Angels (2015 - 2018).
Charlie attended the University of Connecticut and was an All-American pitcher in 1988. He played for the gold medal winning USA Olympic team in 1988.
Charlie and his wife, Jacquelyn "Jackie" have two daughters, Makaela and Lily.

Coach McCaskill enters his 12th year of coaching high school baseball after serving as the Head Coach at Torrey Pines (2013-2019), The Bishops School (2021-2022) and as the pitching coach for the Falcons (2025). During his tenure at Torrey Pines he has been involved in 2 CIF Open Division Championships (2018, 2024).
Prior to coaching HS baseball, "Coach Mac" played 15 years of professional baseball. After signing with the California Angels in 1982, he made his MLB debut in 1985. He pitched for the Angels (1985-1991) and the Chicago White Sox (1992-1996). He finished his MLB career with 106 wins.
Coach McCaskill has been married for 40 years to his wife Dana, has 3 sons Riley, Reese and Bennett (TP 2017), and is a proud grandfather to James Edward McCaskill!
